  1. It was on the night of 30-Nov-97, when no creatures were stirring, and all was
  2. silent. Suddenly, Robert jumped out from behind a rock and wouldnt stop
  3. shouting about "Bad problems with Amos" until I was forced to knock them out:
  4. -> I've recently developed a bad problem and I need some advice/help.  I had
  5. -> AmosPro V2.something installed on my hard drive (I had it updated from the
  6. -> older version) but about a week or so ago I irretrievably lost my data
  7. -> (disksalv won't even bring it back) from my HD.  I've now tried to go back
  8. -> and use the original disks but they won't work.  After originally
  9. -> installing Amos, I put the original disks (system, compiler, updater, etc)
  10. -> away in a safe place and didn't ever touch or use them.  All updates were
  11. -> performed on the HD or on floppy copies, not the originals but now I can't
  12. -> get them to work.  Whenever I try to start AmosPro from the system disk
  13. -> it says:
  14. ->   Cannot read system files: check APSystem folder
  15.  
  16. It sounds like it could be trying to load extensions that are not there. Check
  17. the configuration files.
